As I type I am using one hand. Normally I can whiz along the keyboard at a breakneck speed, but this afternoon I'm at my daughter's house, sitting on the floor, laptop on my stretched out legs and beside me on her colorful play mat is our lovely little miss Maggie. At four months old she loves talking to the dangling Pooh bear, while kicking my leg and reaching for the soft cuddly Pooh. Maggie also likes to hold hands. Bliss!
Her little grip is so strong, she pulls my hand close to bite it, well, actually to gum it, but I don't let her. She can gnaw on Pooh bear. Even though my hands are clean I'm a bit of a germ freak when it comes to letting angels chew on my knuckles.
Alexander is up above us, playing in his room on the pretext of going down for a nap. His little legs are running from one side of the room to the other and I hear him talking to his buddies. Various stuffed toys to the comforter on his big boy bed are all his pals. At two years old his little imagination is just blossoming and it is so fun to see. Again, bliss!
While it's easy for me to focus on all the things I "have" to do like work on the house, lose my weight, inspire the world to get fit and laundry, it is fun to spend a few moments getting lost in their noises and remembering that my grandchildren are the nicest thing that has ever happened to me. I really am the luckiest person in the world.
As for my weigh in last night, I was down a whopping .2 pounds! UGH!!! So this week I'm going to try cutting everything I'm eating in half and then of course NOT eating the extra half. My intake has to go down for the scale to do the same.
Have a fantastic Wednesday and enjoy your special moments.
