After hours and hours of running the orbital floor sander (you HAVE to use one of these) and many different grades of sandpaper, sitting on the floor with a scraper and putting real sweat equity in to our little house, I got the thrill of running the first stroke of varnish across the floor and watching it come to life.
Morton was impressed. I was impressed. Why had we waited so long to do this? It doesn't matter now, it is almost finished, just waiting for the polyurethane to dry and then applying the second coat. If we have enough, we are going to go for three coats.
Now about my muscles. Everything on my body is aching at the moment. My hands both have blisters. My legs are aching. My back is in a knot because I had to life the 120 pound sander out of the van on my own. Then it dawned on me...the 120 pounds is just about what I have lost to this point. WOW...how did my poor body carry all the extra weight around?
This weeks weigh in should be brilliant. I want to get under 300 within the next 60 days and I know it is going to happen.
I'm enjoying a rest right now and then going back to the house and putting down the second layer. If I sit too long, I know my muscles will stiffen up, so I think I'll start painting the garage door now.
Woot!
