Back in the days I was tipping the scale at 440 pounds, the only mirror we had at our little two bedroom end unit in Scotland was the mirror above the bathroom sink. I tried to avoid that as well as any window that showed me my reflection of just how big I was getting.
Last week while looking on Craigslist (I LOVE that site!) I found a person giving away three mirrors. BIG mirrors. I called, they were close and still available, so I borrowed my daughter's van and went and collected them.
Yesterday morning, early, Morton and I hung them all up in the house. The biggest one is taller than I am and wider as well. They are placed in strategic locations to make the place look bigger, add more light and most of all, to let me actually SEE my body.
As my clothes are becoming baggier I'm getting happier as each pound leaves. Tomorrow I will weigh in and I know I will be down. It is amazing how much weight I'm losing now that I'm not eating the night away and gobbling down tubs of ice cream, bags of candy and other naughty items.
The unpacking continues as I set out things that make it feel like our home. The mirrors are a welcome addition and I promise myself to never turn my back on my reflection again. It is time to not just face the truth, but to do something about it.
Have an incredible Monday!
